Franklin County snags $4.6M Justice Department stimulus grant - Business First of Columbus:

million grant headed to Franklih County law enforcement as part of morethan $44 million flowingv into the state through stimulus-funded Justice Departmeng grants. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said in a release that Franklihn County isreceiving $4.59 million under the Edward Byrne Memoriak Justice Assistance Grant Program. That initiative is backer by morethan $4 billionn that was earmarked in the federal stimulus packagw President Barack Obama signed this year. On top of the granty to Franklin County and severalother municipal-level awardas totaling $6.
55 million, Ohio is receiving more than $38 millionh through the same program and must disburse part of the funds to local Holder said the funds are aimed at supportinvg job creation and training in a wide rangew of law-enforcement areas. “B y addressing Ohio’s economic challenges while simultaneously meetingthe state’se public safety priorities, thesed funds represent the best of what the (Americam Investment and) Recovery Act can do for our Holder said in a release. “This vital fundiny will help fight crime and builrsafer communities, and we look forward to continued work with Ohio to addresas these criminal-justice goals.” The U.S.
